I Want, Er, Ah … ?!?!

Not having given alt.com a dime I haven’t done more than browse the locals and read my LoveDog mismatch reports.

Imagine going to a news site and reading a headline proclaiming Something Happened or Today Isn’t Yesterday.

So many profiles just say “looking for something new.” Or “want to try something different.” Really grabs your interest doesn’t it?

Some profile headlines are so badly constructed that someone who sounds like a top proves to really be a bottom who hasn’t the tiniest ability at self-expression.

This vagueness is frustrating. And it seems to apply to the majority of profiles.

I understand that part of it is timidity. Having never dared speak their desires aloud to anyone they are nervous when they sit at their keyboard.

These folks can easily be dismissed as not worth the time. But, you know, I bet many of them are. Or would be if we had a clue as to what they want.

Rather a sad loss.

  • Of course, then you get the ones who are so specific you can tell they practically have an iron-clad script in their heads.

  • Lol. Right after reading your blog entry, I got a message in my collarme inbox with a line that is almost exactly one of the phrases you quoted.

I think it comes down to who is putting the ad up.

A dominant woman can have a blank profile and no photo and she’ll still get emails (I’m not kidding). A submissive male can put his heart and soul into his profile and it won’t matter because a dominant woman doesn’t need to look at profiles…she’s getting more emails than she knows what to do with.

I know dominant men who complain that they need to be careful how they write their profiles. If they sound too nice then a woman who wants someone with a firm hand won’t be interested. If they sound too stern, they might scare away someone who might be a bit timid.

Submissive women? I’ve been told they have it the same as dominant women.

I used to pay alt 40-something a month for years and years (I knew dominant women who said they wouldn’t bother with any sub who didn’t have a gold membership) and didn’t have a single positive experience from that site. I canceled my membership recently and have the same number of dates as I did before.

    *sigh* This makes me tired:

A dominant woman can have a blank profile and no photo and she’ll still get emails (I’m not kidding). It’s not true for everyone. Repeat. Repeat.

  • Personally, I think the reason some dommes are inundated with tons of messages is that there are so many desperate, horny guys out there who don’t realize they’re dealing with actual people. They see a blank profile of a dominant woman and think, “Ooh, she’s dominant! That means we’re right for each other! Dominance is the only quality that matters; we don’t need to click in any other areas! I’ll send her a picture of my cock to make her fall in love with me!” It’s a carpet-bombing approach, and it never works. But they don’t realize that. Their desperation and lack of basic social courtesy only increase each other.
